How to unzip and use EML Format Stationery:
All EML format Stationery offered here are zipped (I use WinZip... click here for an
Overview of WinZip).
The reason for just zipping them instead of placing them inside of an exe format is that, EML format Stationery can be used from anywhere on your computer and/or hard drive(s) and is not bound to the conventional directory of (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery\) and you can decompress them to anywhere you would like.
There are some advantages, and some disadvantages to using EML format Stationery. The advantages are that you can use them from anywhere, you can move them to different directories, and if you decide to delete them, you only delete one file instead of worrying about deleting the wrong html, gif/jpg or midi files. The disadvantage is that you are not able to preview and/or choose the mail message from within the Outlook Express or Outlook program.
How to Unzip EML Format Stationery
First make sure that you have a decompression program like WinZip installed on your computer. Then follow the easy steps below on how to download and unzip the EML format Stationery:
Download and save your zipped EML Format Stationery to a temp location on your hard drive (either C:\Temp or to Desktop or any other location of your choice)
To unzip (decompress) the file(s), use WinZip (in wizard mode), then double click on the zip file you downloaded and then click NEXT.
At the next step you will see where the program intends to unzip the file to. By default this would be into C:\unzipped
Click on the button below it that says: SELECT DIFFERENT FOLDER, this will bring up the window with all the options on where you can have the file decompressed.
Click on the plus sign before the C drive, then the plus sign before the WINDOWS folder, then the DESKTOP folder, then click OK.
It should now look as follows in that line
C:\Windows\Desktop
If it looks that way, click at the bottom on the button that says UNZIP NOW.
This will unzip the file to your Desktop.
If you like you can always right click on your desktop, choose NEW FOLDER from the drop menu, then name your folder (i.e. Stationery) and place all your EML Format Stationery in there for easier and organized access.

Using EML Format Stationery
Find the folder and/or location of your EML format Stationery (icon looks like an envelope) on your desktop or other location of your computer. Double click the icon to open the message window. Click on the button below to see an example of the EML Format message on your hard drive (a new window will open):
When you first open your EML Format Stationery, you will notice that there are no pictures visible, nor any music audible, but instead you are presented with several blocks of text. It will look something like the following (click on the button below to see an example picture in a new window):
As you can see there are now 3 blocks of text visible (the number of blocks may vary from Stationery to Stationery). You may only make changes to the block that indicates where and how to change the text inside that box.
Deleting any of the other boxes will render the Stationery useless!! Changing the text in any other blocks other than where indicated, results in copyright violation and will be prosecuted to the full extend of the Law!
To write your own text into the message box, do the following:
Find the block that displays text stating "Your text here... "
Double click and/or click the inside of this block until all text is highlighted.
DO NOT DELETE THIS TEXT, but just start typing your text (as you type your message, the old text will be replaced and the block will expand in size... DO NOT RESIZE this block MANUALLY!)

When finished composing your text, choose your recipient as usual and also choose a subject line, then press send
Also Note the following Facts:
You will not see the background, special fonts used for the Stationery, scrolling and/or animation of backgrounds and/or pictures, or hear any sound(s) while composing your e-mail. This only works if you are the recipient of the e-mail and/or you have the 'Preview mode for your email messages turned on.
*NOTE* People who have web based email addresses like Yahoo, Excite, Hotmail (many others) or use Netscape, AOL and various other email programs, will not be able to view the stationery properly, but rather get an attachment at best. So make sure to check with the recipient before sending Stationery email.
